Uthundi: a word from a fictional language that translates to "Path of Chains." It is described as the lowest mental state that any living being can endure. A primal self-imprisonment of the heart and mind alike. Rock bottom, but with no way up.

When I began composing this piece, I had a specific character in mind. She has a heart of gold, a mind like steel, and a soul like fire. However, at a certain point in her story, she goes through her own Uthundi. Sadistic forces break her spirit and take away nearly everyone she ever loved, lost to a blazing inferno. But the fires that once surrounded her in her youth now burn brightly in her heart and in her eyes as she stares her nemesis down one last time.
